Decentraland is all over the news. Known for its massive land sales and huge collaborations, it is the leading face of the metaverse. DCL runs only through a browser/beta client and currently there is no VR support. The graphics and user experience often fall behind other platforms. Despite this, it is still one of the largest easy to use platforms with a massive consumer audience.
Somnium space has the best graphics and user experience available. With virtual reality support, engaging events, and more building potential, Somnium Space has made a name for itself and is strong competition to Decentraland. However, with harder-to-use transportation, higher-end hardware requirements, and a smaller audience, it may not be the best option for everyone.
